First Alfa Romeo 4C Promo Touts Brands Return to the U S Configurator Launches in June
Theres a lot to like about the production Alfa Romeo 4C, from its ultra-lightweight construction that uses carbon fiber components to keep the dry weight at a surprisingly low 895kg or 1,973 pounds, to its nicely crafted body, and one thing to hate: those spider eye-style headlamps that look like a bad afterthought.

Of course, it could be just us and a bunch of other gearheads we talked to and who said the same thing, so if you disagree, dont be shy to share your feelings in the comments.
Now, the reason why were coming back to the 236HP (240PS) Alfa 4C that was unwrapped earlier today at the Geneva Auto Show isnt to talk about its lights, but to tell you that the Italian brand has released the first promotion videos of the mid-engine sports car, and launched a primitive online configurator.
Alfa tells us in one of the videos that the full-spec configurator will be available in June. The one thats online now, only gives the chance to choose from two colors for the body and interior trim.
At Alfa Romeos Geneva motor show press conference, the Italian companys CEO Harald Wester confirmed the 4Cs North American premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, with first deliveries before the end of the year.
While Alfa wont reveal pricing for the United States until the LA show, Wester did say that the 4C Launch Edition shown in Geneva will be priced at €60,000 (US$78,000) in Europe where it goes on sale in September.

In recent days there have been many rumors that have circulated on the future of the Italian brand Alfa Romeo , Fiat Group owned. According to the British magazine Car , Alfa Romeo could put aside their current front-drive models, Giulietta and MiTo , to focus on n ew models or AWD drive .
The idea of the Italians would compete face to face with the Germans , but from the company say that " Yes, the design is important, it is important Italian elegance, and high quality is also important, but it is impossible to deal with Audi, BMW and Mercedes if you can not keep up in vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure . Apparently Alfa Romeo could work with Maserati to develop a new platform that would be used in four models. The Alfa Romeo Giulia , a sedan ready to face the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 , is expected in 2015, while the Alfetta , rival the 5 Series and E-Class , would arrive in 2016.
Already in 2017 and 2018 Alfa Romeo supply could include two new crossover , one to deal with the BMW X1 and the other a little bigger rival X3 or Q5 . In any case, all models come with V6 engines developed by Maserati, hybrid systems and transmissions ZF eight relations.

Alfa Romeo is working hard on 159 successor

For more than a year ago rolled the last of the Alfa Romeo 159 to the band and has been running the famous Italian brand still only on the MiTo and Giulietta. A complete brand based on two compact models is obviously not a stable basis and Fiat will therefore make every effort to Alfa Romeo to get back on their feet. To do this it is working hard to get the production version of the 4C, the compact sports car that debuted in 2011 in Geneva. The second asset is a completely new Spider, developed in partnership with Mazda. And before we forget, there is also secretly working on a crossover.
Giulia
More important, because without more guarantees more sales, is a successor of the stylish 159. That in the declining segment of the middle class more than enough pickings for premium brands with the proven BMW 3-series and Audi A4. Alfa Romeo hopes to piggyback on this success with a new sedan that stage as Giulia goes through life.
American roots
Giulia, who also will be available as a wagon, is on a modified platform of the Dodge Dart. This American brand is part of Chrysler that again some time sharing the sheets with Fiat. Under the hood is up-and-Italian summit with several variants of the 1.4 liter MultiAir and also the famous 1750 TBi will again make its appearance.
It is expected that the new Alfa Romeo presented next year and in 2014 in the showroom will appear.
